River Oaks is a comfortable safe environment in which to seek care. Beware of the $250 admin fee when you walk in the door. it is a big facility and sometimes you need to able to advocate for yourself to get the treatment and one on one appointments necessary. I did this and I was very pleased with the staff. Make sure you go there to help yourself as there will be many distractions from others that are jus going through the motions and are more interested in socializing...
They provide all the necessary tools to get yourself cleaned up. You simply just need to apply yourself like anything else in life. I did read other reviews and I’m shocked about the complaints about the facility. It’s Rehab not the Ritz Carlton. That being said it’s super clean , food is “food” , and the staff is cooperative. Do not go against the grain and your stay will be very beneficial to your recovery . The one down side is that there are certain African American female staff members that have a chips on there shoulder against white males. Which is really sad because we are supposed to live in a world of equality but they definitely take their “power trip” to a whole new level. You just learn to avoid those members of the working staff which is typically the clerical department. Which is challenging if you are trying to get anything accomplished from the inside regarding insurance, financially, or phone calls. Today , I’m clean and will remain that way for life because of the counselors , CTS staff, and therapy staff. Recovery is such a fragile stage in your life that if someone is giving you attitude simply walk away. The good outweighs the bad and would recommend RO to anyone.
River Oaks is a comfortable safe environment in which to seek care. Beware of the $250 admin fee when you walk in the door. it is a big facility and sometimes you need to able to advocate for yourself to get the treatment and one on one appointments necessary. I did this and I was very pleased with the staff. Therapists and doctors are very good. In my view, the case managers are there to facilitate, not initiate after care. In other words, have a good idea of how the sober living environment is, because I do not trust the case managers to do their due diligence.
My son recently received help in this place, everything was great until his ride to the airport to come home. The driver who was a white female (couldn't get her name) with glasses stressed him out so much, he was texting me in the car telling me how scared he was of her driving the way it was so aggressive and just complaining about her personal life with someone on the phone. I spoke to an agent about this behavior and he would pass it along, but just want everyone to be aware of the ordeal he went through. Well long story short he came home and started to drink again because of that episode with the one employee because of the stress and said that was the reason why he went to drink. This one employee is the only reason I give it 3 stars because all the other parts of his experience was great and we would recommend River Oaks to anyone seeking help. We paid good money to get him help, only to get it reversed and start drinking again because the negligence of one employee. My son came home at the end of July 2018. Thank You everyone there for their dedication to helping my son get better though.
The place was beautiful and like a resort. They helped me out a great deal. They are very lax on patient privacy. Most of the staff were excellent but some need to be fired. Especially some of the BHT’s. All the therapist I met were great. All in all great place
Great staff and facility ! So I'm adding on to this review .. My therapist was great.. Actually all the therapist are wonderful, and actually go out of there way for every client .. Along with the staff members.. You do the right thing! Good things Will come.. This place saved my life.. I will for ever be in debt to River Oaks.. Thank You.. My last day I thank the CEO Jeff for everything. I did not want to leave this facility ! The cooks and BHT we're my favorite .. Edwin the cook plays and OK game of basketball ...will look forwarded to the alumni rematch .
River Oaks is a great facility that is a well kept and upper middle class clientele for drug and alcohol rehabilitation. The grounds are well taken care of as well as the facility. Large living quarters and only one roommate. During detox period the client is taking care of extremely well. The majority of the staff is dedicated and passionate about their jobs. The program is a free will campus and the client is encouraged to do the appropriate things but are never forced into the therapy. The positive point about this facility is a place where you choose to be sober and can literally able to walk off campus at any moment. No locked detox ward just a beautiful hotel with an amazing purpose. This place will change your life forever if you allow them to help yourself. REMEMBER THAT disease is not your fault but your recovery is your responsibility. Love yourself enough to call River Oaks and get on that plane cause when you are an active addiction you have nothing left to lose and everything on the line. Death is the only other place you can go. The people who you meet will be the most amazing and inspirational group of addicts you can have around you. "An addict helping another addict is beyond parallel." This rang especially true for me. I wanted to also say the nurse Christina that is from New York was my intake nurse and treats everyone with dignity and respect no matter how bad you think that you and your behavior have been she never judged and always believed in me and my buddy Austin. I love you River Oaks Staff and in two months I will be visiting to speak for my 6 months sober. Tim is a great therapist and I am proud of the phone call I made, no matter how hard it was to actually hit that green dial button. This review has been my pleasure and if you want to meet me.I'll be there in Tampa bay in May so come see me and save yourself!!!!!!!
I have nothing but good thoughts and experiences about my stay at River Oaks.everyone. was thoughtful and helpful. It takes a certain type of person to do that job with all the different moods and withdrawing everyone one is different and are there for something other than alcohol that's what I went for., but we are all there for the same thing. To get better! Thank you River Oaks! You mad My stay there pleasant, and helped guide me in the right direction.I miss my little bubble I was in, but you guy gave me the tools to move forward.I'm 8 months sober and counting!
Great staff! They are really nice and encouraging/motivating. The beds are comfy too!
I am so thankful for this facility. My husband has returned home a different person. Happy and sober. He made friends there that he still keeps in touch with and they support one another. He has had his complaints..but nothing serious. Thank you River Oaks!
I stayed for 32 days. It was very helpful. The place was the most laid back and helpful places that your are going to find. They give you all kinds of stuff to do and the staff and fellowship makes it much easier to go thru. Also it's coed for the most part except housing and groups. The other clients your around on a daily basis make it much easier to stick with it and get thru it.
Admitting myself to River Oaks Rreament Center for treatment was the best decision I have ever made. The doctors and nurses are phenomenal! The therapists are amazing! The support staff is always around to assist with whatever you may need, even if it is just a listening ear. From the moment I was admitted until the moment I was discharged, my experience was exceptional! I now have one year clean and sober and if I have a question or concern, the alumni support is just a phone call away! If you are feeling like you want to attend River Oaks or any other American Addiction Centers facility but have questions, feel free to private message me and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
